Description

Mitad del Mundo, toquilla hat, Galápagos tortoise. One rose.

Fit

Fresh off the cut-and-sew, so new it's still shedding lint. Turn it inside out, wash cold, dry low — first wash gets the loose fiber out and keeps the print clean.

  • 6.5 oz midweight fleece, 52% cotton / 48% polyester
  • Standard fit pullover, kangaroo pocket, ribbed cuffs
  • Mitad del Mundo monument and rose in white ink, front
  • Toquilla hat and Galápagos tortoise on the back
  • "Salve, Oh Patria" printed near the left cuff

About this product

About This Design

The Mitad del Mundo monument stands center chest on the front — the cylindrical tower at San Antonio de Pichincha that marks the calculated equatorial line, the point where the earth splits into two hemispheres. Below the country name, a rose: Ecuador grows more cut roses than almost any country on earth, most of them in the highlands around Cayambe and Cotopaxi, most of them leaving the country before anyone in Ecuador sees them bloom. On the back, a sombrero de paja toquilla sits left of the number — the toquilla straw hat woven in Montecristi and Cuenca that the world calls a Panama hat. Inside the zero: a Galápagos giant tortoise, the animal that helped Darwin understand what he was looking at.
